Hera II Mini Bayonet Tan Aluminium, Apocalyptica compact version of one of the finest and most versatile OTF(OutTheFront)automatic knives, equipped with a Bayonet style blade. Inspired by the iconic Troodon, it bridges the gap between EDC-oriented models and fully tactical designs.The knife operates in D/A(DoubleAction) mode, delivering rapid, strong, and reliable blade deployment and retraction. M390MK – a collaboration between Microtech and Böhler engineers resulted in an exclusive version of M390 steel made only for Microtech. The carbon content has been increased and subjected to closer scrutiny thus improving the properties of M390 steel to provide better edge retention, corrosion resistance and polishing. Martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced by powder metallurgy. Due to its alloy concept, it has extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Due to its high wear resistance, it adequately maintains the shape of the edge, so the blade stays sharp for a very long time (requiring minimal maintenance). Another of the advantages is resistance to the formation of “wire” during sharpening. The steel has a high chromium content of 19.0% (Cr) doped with 1.95% carbon (C), vanadium 4.0% (V), and is hardened to 59-61 HRC. This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Manufactured by Böhler Edelstahl in Kapfenberg, Austria.
Blade- machine‑ground with a Bayonet profile. Finished in a matte Apocalyptic patina, giving it an aged, battle‑worn appearance while effectively masking minor scratches that occur during use. The blade features a high flat grind with a central fuller, providing excellent cutting performance while maintaining high durability. This construction also significantly enhances piercing capability.The strong deployment and retraction mechanism is operated via a knurled Thumb Slide – a stepped thumb switch that, for safety, requires deliberate pressure to overcome the spring tension. This mechanism ensures secure and comfortable blade operation for both right‑ and left‑handed users.
Handle – crafted with the highest precision using 3D CNC machining, in a tan-coloredfinish from anodized 6061-T6 aluminum. The stepped surface texture ensures a secure grip and prevents the knife from slipping during use. Jimping on the spine and bottom of the handle provides even better control.The slim handle profile and machined titanium, two-position (right/left) pocket clip allow for tip-down carry (blade tip down). The clip is equipped with a smooth rollerball, allowing the knife to slide into a pocket easily and smoothly without damaging the pocket edges.
