The VK-Core Black Stonewashed is designed by Vulpex for Bestech. A small and powerful fixed-blade knife with a monoblock design and a blade that provides optimal edge geometry, the Wharncliff profile offers from extreme cutting power to scalpel-like precision. An exceptional E.D.C. knife made of very good materials at an attractive price.
14C28N – Martensitic chromium stainless steel is the latest development in a range of knife steels produced by Sandvik’s Swedish mills . An optimized chemical composition with a unique combination provides superior quality, excellent edge performance, high hardness and corrosion resistance. By reducing the amount of carbon 0.62% (C) and increasing the chromium content 14.0% (Cr), as well as adding nitrogen 0.11% (N), corrosion resistance has been significantly improved. Considered an improved version of 13C26 steel. Unbeatable in the price/quality category!
Blade – Wharncliff type, finished with a scratch-masking bath of fine Stonewashed pebbles, and then coated with a black coating. The straight line of the cutting edge converges towards the sharp end of the blade. The thickness of the blade , combined with a high, flat grind, results in excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. To make it easier to control the blade, a section of the blade’s back is covered with an upper jimping, notched thumb rest. The pressed-in gold dot is a hallmark of Vulpex designs.
Handle – the tang of the knife with holes allowing to braid, for example, paracord around it. Simple, solid construction guarantees many years of use. The set comes with a black kydex sheath. Thanks to the holes on the rim, we can carry the knife hanging around the neck or screw on a Tek-Lok type attachment.
