Vacuum & Cryogenic- the14C28Nsteel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages.Vacuum Heat Treatment:the steel is heated in a vacuum environment, minimizing oxidation and ensuring more uniform metal properties. This process enhances the strength and structural integrity of the steel.Cryogenic Treatment:after heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. These advanced treatments enable 14C28N steel to deliver exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade longevity.
Blade – features a Drop Point profile, finished with a scratch-concealing Bead Blasted method, which involves abrasive blasting with fine glass or ceramic beads. The long cutting edge in relation to the length of the Blade converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth and smooth operation of the knife’s opening mechanism. The flipper allows both right- and left-handed people to open the knife quickly and effortlessly, and when opened, creates a mini guard to prevent fingers from slipping on the cutting edge. On the back of the upper jimping wedge, a notched thumb rest. A small choil makes for easy sharpening. The whole is locked with the proven and popular frame lock with a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle – is two pieces of solid titanium 6AL4V with a slightly rough texture. Chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges for comfort and improve grip security. The open-backed design, so called, fastened together with steel spacer sleeves, reduces weight and facilitates cleaning. The simple, sturdy design provides assurance of years of use. Deep finger undercut (fore finger groove) improves grip security. The pivot axis is decorated with a stylized Kubey Knife brand logo. A single-position (right) titanium deep-carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up position (blade tip up).
