Predator-14N Black Micarta, Black PTFE medium-sized all-purpose outdoor knife from Spanish company Muela features a full tang construction with a MoVa steel blade. The goal was to create an easy-to-carry, reliable knife with low weight for outdoor work. Targeted at bushcraft, survival and hunting enthusiasts.
X50CrMoV15(1.4116) -molybdenum-vanadiumhigh-carbon, martensitic stainless steel, highly resistant to corrosion and wear. Used in the manufacture of knives, high-end cutlery and surgical instruments. It is characterized by a fairly high, for stainless steels, hardness of56-58 HRC.The chemical composition of the steel is enriched with an admixture of15.0%chromium (Cr),0.80%molybdenum (Mo),0.20%vanadium (V).
PTFE Black- widely used in the coating industry, polytetrafluoroethylene is an ultra-fine, low molecular weight product processed by a special process. It is characterized by excellent chemical and weathering and temperature resistance, thermal stability, non-stickiness, electrical insulation, fire resistance and self-lubrication. Thanks to the use of polytetrafluoroethylene as a blade coating material, friction during use is reduced, thus reducing the need for force during all kinds of work. PTFE-coated blades provided 22% lower average force and 26% lower maximum force compared to chrome-coated blades.
Blade – with a Clip Point profile,covered with a black Teflon-based protective coating. Plain-type smooth blade, derived with a hollow grind, gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. On the back of the blade notched thumb rest (ramp).
Handle – profiled for excellent grip while working. Grips made of Micarta composite, a practically indestructible material insensitive to weather conditions, resistant to chemicals and mechanical damage. The protruding part of the tanto can be used as an improvised glass striker, it also has a hole for threading a safety cable.
Sheath – hand-stitched, made of top quality cowhide and Cordura with manufacturer’s logo. The edges of the case are stitched with decorative thread. Fastened with a Prym type snap.The belt attachment allows you to carry the knife in an upright position.
