M390 Microclean®- a martensitic high-performance chromium steel produced using powder metallurgy. Due to the alloy concept, it is characterized by extremely high wear resistance and high corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high wear resistance, it retains its edge shape, keeping the blade sharp for a very long time (requires minimal maintenance). Another advantage is its resistance to “wire” formation during sharpening. Steel with a high chromium content of20.0%(Cr) and an admixture of1.9%carbon (C),4.0%vanadium (V), hardened to59-61 HRC.This super steel is comparable to Carpenter’s CPM 20CV or CTS-204P steels. Vacuum & Cryogenic-M390steel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages.Vacuum Heat Treatment: the steel is hardened in a vacuum environment, which minimizes oxidation and ensures more uniform metal properties. This process increases the strength and structural integrity of the steel.Cryogenic Treatment: After heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts retained austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance and overall durability. Thanks to these advanced processes,M390steel ensures exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and extraordinary blade durability.
Blade-Clip pointtype.Finished with a scratch-concealingSandblastedmethod, a process in which fine sand particles are ejected under pressure onto the blade to give a stylish and practical look.The long cutting edge with a prominent belly converges toward the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The small thickness of the blade, combined with a high,flat grind, gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings support the smooth operation of the blade’s opening mechanism, which can be opened with a quick front flipper (index-finger front flipper). As a result, it can be easily used by right- and left-handed people. We can also open it using the opening in the wedge. On the back of the upper jimping wedge, a notched thumb rest. The whole is locked with the proven and popularframe lockwith a steel inlay to prevent wiping of the lock face.
Handle – is two pieces of solid 6AL4V titanium with a slightly rough texture, flame-colored in „Tiger Stripes” pattern. The chamfered edges of the covers eliminate sharp edges for comfort and improve grip security. The solid titanium backspacer to which the grips are attached guarantees the rigidity and strength of the entire structure. The simple, solid design gives you the assurance of many years of use. The fore finger groove improves grip security. The pivot axis is decorated with a stylized Kubey Knife brand logo. A single-position (right) titanium deep-carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up position (blade tip up). In the recess of the backspacer a place to thread a safety or decorative cord.
