Vacuum & Cryogenic- the14C28Nsteel undergoes a specialized heat treatment process involving two key stages.Vacuum Heat Treatment:the steel is heated in a vacuum environment, minimizing oxidation and ensuring more uniform metal properties. This process enhances the strength and structural integrity of the steel.Cryogenic Treatment:after heating, the steel is rapidly cooled to extremely low temperatures, often below -100°C (-148°F). This transformation converts residual austenite into martensite, significantly increasing hardness, wear resistance, and overall durability. These advanced treatments enable 14C28N steel to deliver exceptional performance, offering both razor-sharp edge retention and remarkable blade longevity.
Blade- features aDrop Pointprofile, finished with a scratch-concealingBead Blastedmethod, which involves abrasive blasting with fine glass or ceramic beads.The long cutting edge in relation to the length of the Blade converges towards the needle-sharp tip of the knife. The thickness of the blade provides high strength while the high, flat grind gives excellent cutting edge geometry and extreme cutting performance. Ceramic ball bearings are responsible for the smooth and smooth operation of the knife’s opening mechanism. The flipper fin, when opened, forms a mini-guard preventing your hand from slipping on the blade. The knife can also be opened with the help of a hole milled in the wedge. The pivot axis is decorated with a stylized Kubey Knife brand logo. A single-position (right) titanium deep-carry clip allows you to carry the knife discreetly in your pocket in tip-up position. Above the clip a lanyard hole, a hole for threading a safety or decorative cord.
